The theme of my work is "trouble in paradise." In my paintings, aesthetically pleasing designs invoke the clarity of nature and interplay with notes of unruliness and degradation to create a counterpoint that touches on themes of desire and destruction. This work operates on irony and offers unexpected surprises that raise questions about our relationship to ecology, and our tendency to choose short term comforts over long term well-being.
