Kent Myers
Kent Myers first appeared on the art scene illustrating the award-winning underground comic book "Detroit! Murder Comix", running seven issues in the 90s.
Continuing with editorial illustration Myers' work appeared in numerous magazines & newspapers, most recently the cover art for the best-of-the-bay zine "Specious Species #5".
Kent's poster art began in the mid 90s for Fillmore bands including the Stooges, Dave Matthews & House of Pain. It was this poster art which led to a series of swim event posters for the Dolphin club featured prominently in this current exhibition.
The most recent body of work being shown is a series of new oil paintings depicting images from 1960s television animation, San Francisco landscapes, and Vietnam war inspired designs.
Myers lives in San Francisco with his wife & daughter and divides his artistic pursuits between fine art and commercial web design.
