Lately, I’ve been sculpting with a wide range of primarily salvaged materials ~ combinations of wood, wire, and textile remnants from my fashion design practice. Whenever possible I repurpose material, and use natural and non-toxic treatments. Each piece incorporates multiple techniques: stitching, stuffing, cutting, weaving. The abstract results can often be touched, held, worn, rearranged. I’m curious about the performance of everyday life. What does self-presentation look while navigating different social roles and community relationships? I’ve explored these themes through my clothing, sculptures, performances.
