My paintings are mainly of the SF Bay Area, depicting landscapes and cityscapes in a manner that is both graphic and gestural. I look for scenes that have interesting composition, plentiful pattern, and a sense of transition: fallow fields to full, older buildings to new. The subjects are a starting point for abstracted explorations of color, shape, texture and line.
