The emotions and energies that gave rise to abstract expressionism I apply to the medium of traditional black and white photography. The surreal, often non-objective nature of the work is the product, and a record, of my experiences. As such the images lead to a deeper engagement on a more subconscious level. It is this expression of abstract thought and feeling I am interested in.

Born and raised in Germany I am an immigrant, a dedicated modernist, and a contemporary artist. Now located in picturesque San Francisco I continue to discover and reinterpret my surroundings with fresh and curious eyes.
