Art exists in the mind.
This is the basic principal behind my artistic direction. There are two fundamental systems at work in my designs that approach a single concept from opposing directions; Symmetry and Noise.
The mind identifies with symmetry. It causes the observer to project ideas and images from their memory into the field of thought whenever it is experienced.
The mind operates in a field of thought. This field is ever changing and evolving, creating a continuous stream of thought for the mind to experience. A thought can be held, opened and explored to reveal deeper levels of the same thought. Using Fractional Brownian Motion (a fractal algorithm based on Ken Perlin's original noise algorithms) I create noise fields that are recursive in nature, that is, any segment of the visible field of noise can be focused upon, and opened up through deeper observation to reveal further details.
Combing the two in still form yields single representation of the experience of awareness in time.
Combing the two in audio visual form yields a place where new experience can exist.
